The UAE is becoming one of the world’s fastest growing economies with a large segment of youth and working population. However, financial knowledge is generally seen as a difficult subject to master and carries a cultural and societal stigma of individuals not reaching out for financial help. We aim to change the perception around this topic by raising awareness and strengthening the path for clear, concise and actionable information.
We are strongly influenced by what others do, especially people we perceive who are like us. Since we are all ‘actors’ in our own ‘life stories’, we behave in ways that make us feel better about ourselves and like almost everything else in life, our responses to money are also largely dictated by our personality types. Understanding our money personality is the first step and will help shape our approach to spending, saving, and investing.

The Ghaya program educates participants in financial literacy, the importance of saving, spending and debt on their personal life, and the consequences of not managing finances. Through real life scenarios, specific to the UAE, beneficiaries will gain valuable knowledge from their assigned volunteers on how to manage their finances effectively, make their ends meet and finally drive change within their families, as well as the community they belong to. This program is in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Global Markets Academy and the London Institute for Banking and Finance, and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, and the UAE Banks Federation.
