The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an aims to support companies with a social goal of community participation, contribution and activating the private sector’s role in sustainably serving the community.

By having the social certificate you will be recognised as a genuine social enterprise and you will be part of the largest network of social enterprises in the UAE.

Through joining the social community, you will be eligible to receive a set of incentives to enhance community participation and contribution and activate the role of the private sector in community service is sustainably.

HOW TO GET CERTIFIED

1. check eligibility

To have a license to practice an economic activity in Abu Dhabi

To have an explicit social mission stated in the constitutional/ Shareholders documents of the company or by providing an undertaking letter signed by all founders, to achieve a social benefit through one or more activities.

2. prepare Your documents

Copy of Trade license

Constitutional Documents orSocial Goal Undertaking Letter Copy of founders’ passports

Copy of founders’ Emirates ID

Social Certificate Program is designed to provide opportunities and incentives to the Social Enterprises operating in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. The Social Certificate aims to recognize organizations’ effort to align their activities toward social priorities defined by Department of Community Development.

Being a certified social enterprise is a unique selling point for your business. It is important to let your investors and customers know that your business is making a direct impact on the society.

Through the Social Certification you will be part of a large network of social enterprises in the UAE and get access to various benefits and incentives.

Your private organization won’t be charged any fees to obtain Social Certification.

  • Commercial license issued in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
  • Constitution / Shareholders Agreement stating a social mission or providing a Social Goal Undertaking Letter signed by all founders.
Yes, you can provide the undertaking letter signed by all founders, please contact Ma’an at social.certificate@maan.gov.ae  to provide you additional information.

Social Certificate is granted to social enterprises based in Abu Dhabi, however you can still have the chance by establishing a branch of your business in the Abu Dhabi.
